STANSTED AIRPORT, ESSEX, UK (May 27, 2021) - AMETEK MRO, a global provider of third-party MRO services for commercial, regional and general aviation, has promoted Andy Wheeler to the role of Divisional Vice President and Managing Director for its AEM business. Wheeler succeeds Alan Harding, who is also moving to a new role as Divisional Vice President, Europe and Asia.
Wheeler joined AEM in 1980 and, over the last 40 years, has undertaken a variety of roles within the organization. He gained extensive experience as Operations Director and, more recently, as Commercial Director for AEM, where he oversaw the Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, and Supply Chain functions.
“Andy’s knowledge of the AEM business and the wider MRO markets makes him uniquely qualified to take on the full profit and loss leadership of AEM,” said Harding.
In this key role, Wheeler will lead, manage, and drive business results for AEM’s three locations across the UK, providing tactical and strategic guidance. He will also develop and implement all aspects of profit and loss management with an emphasis on AMETEK’s four growth strategies: Operational Excellence, New Product Development, Global and Market Expansion, and Strategic Acquisitions.
“I am truly delighted to be given the privilege to lead such a great organization,” Wheeler said. “Our three UK facilities are uniquely placed within the MRO sector, and we are strategically positioned to expand our portfolio of products and services further to the wider market. Our brand has been built over 60 years of trading within component MRO services. Underpinning this, we have the most talented and experienced group of people within the industry. Together, we will continue to extend our collaborative approach to customer service and deliver significant value to our shareholders.”
